Single-phase 50VA toroidal transformer, 230Vac input voltage and 12Vac output winding. It includes a resettable thermal protector as an additional protection measure to prevent the transformer from burning out in case of working conditions different from the design ones (voltage peaks, etc).
This thermal protector means that when a working temperature is reached in the primary above the temperature for which it is designed, its mechanism opens automatically to prevent the transformer from deterioration, and when the normal operating temperature is restored, the transformer is put back into service.
This type of transformer is very suitable when reduced size and weight are required, with an improvement of up to 50% over other types of construction, very low losses in the copper under load, which translates into less overheating and high performance. Electrical connection
The transformer incorporates a resettable thermal protector to protect it against temperatures above the design temperature, even so, it is recommended to install overload protection to avoid deterioration and safety of the transformer and the installation. The power and current indicated are apparent, the active current provided by the transformer will depend on the power factor of the connected load.
In the case of using a protection fuse in the primary, it is recommended to use the delayed type, to absorb the high starting current characteristic of this type of transformers.
