CONNECTION OF SINGLE-PHASE MOTORS.

The electrical connection of the single-phase motors, like the three-phase motors, is made on the terminals of the motor, which have been located in the terminal box of the motor, the size of the terminal box of the single-phase motors is significantly larger than those of the three-phase motors, since it is housed a condenser, in the case of half-torque motors , and two capacitors and the centrifugal circuit breaker in the case of high starting torque motors.

The type of electrical connection of the single-phase motor is similar to three-phase motors, but they have only 2 inserts, depending on the position of the plates, parallel horizontal or parallel vertical, the motor shaft will rotate clockwise or counterclockwise.

The following image shows the connection schemes for a bootable half-torque engine:

The following image shows the connection scheme for a high-torque single-phase motor.

In both types of motors, all elements and connection is already done and the client only has to connect the engine to the terminals marked as Vac.

OVERLOAD PROTECTION IN SINGLE-PHASE MOTORS.

It is a recommended practice to install protective elements to protect the engine against possible overloads, in this way we avoid electric heating of the motor coils.

Protection can be performed by a thermal relay or by a MCB circuit breaker circuit breaker, if the protection is performed by thermal relay, it will have to be associated with a contactor.

If we use MCB circuit breaker circuit breaker, it does not necessarily have to be associated with a contactor, the circuit breaker in case it only has the ability to interrupt the current towards the motor.

The circuit breakers we offer are three-phase but can be used in single-phase circuits in a simple and equally effective way, just relice the connection indicated below:
